Place your LSX speakers around the listening seat

The S1 gives each speaker its own floor position. Mark out the bases on either side of the listening area before choosing a finish. Check that doors can open, chairs can move and the cable route reaches both positions.

Match the speaker mounting point and cable route

KEF lists LSX, LSX II and LSX II LT as compatible systems. The mounting screw secures the speaker to the top plate. Plan the cable exits before assembly and leave enough slack to disconnect the speaker without lifting the stand.

Floor, desk or wall placement

Choose S1 when you have floor space for two independent speaker positions. If your speakers must stay on a desk, compare the P1 desk pad. For a clear floor, consider the B1 wall bracket and have the installer check the wall and fixing points for the exact speaker.

Questions before choosing the S1

What does one S1 package cover?

One pair of floor stands. Speakers shown in setup photos are sold separately.

Can I use S1 with an original LSX?

Yes. KEF lists the original LSX alongside LSX II and LSX II LT. Follow the fixing instructions for your specific speaker.

How high will my speaker sit?

The stand is 683 mm high with its plinth. For the driver height, add the distance from the speaker base to the centre of its driver, then compare that with seated ear height.

Will the base fit beside a narrow cabinet?

Mark a 208 × 251 mm rectangle on the floor for each stand. Leave room for cable bends and check the speaker cabinet above the base as well.

Can I hide every cable inside the stand?

KEF provides an internal cable route. Check your connector sizes and cable lengths before assembly and leave slack at each end.

How should I level the stand?

Set up the adjustable rubber feet on the intended floor before fitting the speaker. KEF lists third-party spikes as an alternative. Check floor protection if you choose them.

Is the column fillable?

Yes. KEF lists a fillable pillar. Check the assembly instructions for the filling method before adding any material.

What should I share for help choosing a finish?
