Do I need a separate phono preamplifier?
Not when you use TT5005’s built-in equaliser and connect to a suitable AUX or line input. When connecting to an amplifier’s PHONO input, set the turntable equaliser to OFF so the signal does not pass through two phono stages.
Can I connect passive speakers directly?
No. The turntable supplies an audio signal, not speaker power. Use an amplifier and passive speakers, or a suitable powered-speaker system with an analogue input. Check the required connection and level first.
