Build the surround field around your seats
Theva Surround combines a 16.5 cm Slatefiber mid/bass driver and 25 mm TNF aluminium/magnesium tweeter in a closed, wall-mounted cabinet.
Who it is for
Home-cinema owners adding wired surround channels with a shallow cabinet and an included wall attachment, particularly alongside other Theva speakers.
Trade-offs
It needs receiver amplification, speaker wiring and suitable wall fixings. Its bass extension calls for considered subwoofer integration rather than expecting a full-range cinema system from this pair alone.
Plan the receiver, wall and cable route
Check the receiver against the 4.5 ohm minimum load and intended channel count. The 25–100 W recommendation is a guide, not a guarantee of compatibility with every receiver carrying a similar power rating.
Use the supplied wall attachment with fixings selected for the actual wall; a freestanding support is not the default mounting arrangement. Discuss your Pune or India cinema layout before committing to the mounting positions. Browse home-theatre receivers only after confirming the required channels and load support.
Theva Surround or a bookshelf surround layout?
| Option | Placement | Consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Theva Surround | Shallow wall-mounted cabinet | Check wall construction, cable route and seats |
| Theva No.1 | Bookshelf or suitable stand arrangement | Check available floor/shelf space and its own specifications |
No direct next-model-up claim is made for this specialist surround role. Compare the options in the Focal collection, and review surround speakers or subwoofers as separate parts of the system.

Frequently asked questions
Where should I put Theva Surround in a 5.1 room?
Focal’s manual recommends side-wall positions around the listening area for Theva Surround and warns against placing the speakers too far behind the seats. Use the manual’s 5.1 layout as the starting point, then assess your actual sofa position, room shape and mounting options before fixing either 5.5 kg cabinet.
A sofa against the rear wall can limit useful positions. Share a room sketch before installation so the placement and receiver calibration can be planned together.
Can I use Theva Surround in a 7.1 system?
Theva Surround can serve surround channels in a 7.1 layout, and Focal’s manual includes a positioning diagram for that arrangement as well as 5.1. The receiver must provide the required powered channels, while the speaker positions should follow the seating layout rather than simply filling spare space on a wall.
This listing supplies two speakers, not a complete seven-speaker system. Check which channels are already covered and whether your room has practical locations for the additional pair.
Which AV receiver will drive Theva Surround?
Focal specifies 25–100 W amplification, 8 ohms nominal impedance and a 4.5 ohm minimum for Theva Surround, with 89 dB sensitivity. Assess an AV receiver’s load support and available output across the channels you use, rather than choosing solely from a single-channel power figure in its advertising.
Share the exact receiver model and the rest of your speaker system for a compatibility check. Listening distance, volume and bass-management choices also affect how much output is needed.
Does Theva Surround come with a wall bracket?
Focal supplies the wall attachment with Theva Surround, but its manual states that screws and wall plugs are not supplied and must suit the partition. Each speaker weighs 5.5 kg, so mounting suitability depends on the wall construction and fixings, not simply whether a bracket is included in the box.
Use a competent installer to assess the wall and follow the current mounting instructions. Do not assume a generic plasterboard fixing or an unrelated speaker stand is suitable.
Should I set Theva Surround to Small on my receiver?
Theva Surround’s published bandwidth starts at 80 Hz, with a 67 Hz low-frequency point, so a subwoofer-backed cinema system should assess bass management rather than assume full-range surround playback. A receiver’s Small setting normally redirects bass below the selected crossover; choose that setting and crossover from calibration and listening checks.
The speaker’s internal 3000 Hz crossover is not the receiver’s subwoofer crossover. Check the receiver manual and measured integration instead of copying that internal figure into the bass-management menu.
Is Theva Surround a wireless speaker?
Theva Surround is a passive, wired two-way loudspeaker and needs speaker cable from suitable amplification; it does not provide its own wireless streaming or built-in amplifier. Its 10.7 cm cabinet depth helps wall placement, but the cable route and receiver connection still need planning before you mount the pair.
Confirm cable length, termination and polarity with the installer. Wireless convenience would require a different system approach rather than assuming Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is built into this model.
How does Theva Surround compare with Theva No.1?
Theva Surround is designed for wall-mounted cinema channels in a shallow closed cabinet, while Theva No.1 is a bookshelf model to evaluate for a different placement approach. Decide first whether you need wall integration around the seats or a conventional bookshelf or stand position, then compare the model-specific specifications.
Neither name alone establishes a better result in your room. Theva family matching is useful, but positioning and receiver calibration remain important when combining different cabinet types.
Is the ₹155,000 Theva Surround price for a pair?
The current AudioGuru listing shows ₹155,000 including GST for a pair of Focal Theva Surround speakers, meaning two units rather than one or a complete home-cinema package. The individual dimensions and 5.5 kg weight describe each speaker; receiver, cable and installation scope should be checked separately when planning the purchase.
Use the live price and order details at checkout, since prices can change. Delivery arrangements depend on order confirmation and product availability, and the price does not imply a fixed delivery date.
